PYREX® The Megabrand – Helps you do everything in the kitchen just a little easier

PYREX® is made from silica, the main ingredient (a compound found in quartz and sand) then added another eight ingredients and some broken glass and cooked in a huge furnace at 3000F. After all the materials are mixed, the molten glass is cut into small portion call “gobs” and dispensed into molds of various sizes. A hydraulic press is used to give the pieces their final shape and fire polishing process gets rid of rough edges. The glass then goes through a tempering process that gives the products its strength and durability.
